Drawn to themes such as ‘hidden’, ‘emerging’, ‘absence and presence’ I’m currently focusing on the tidal Thames – its dramatic rise and fall and what it covers and uncovers. I like my art to convey the process of change – either in one work or through a series of works.
The Thames also transports and disgorges. I’m an avid beachcomber. Although proud of my more complete finds most are incomplete and I relish their fragmentary nature. I want my art to express what excites, amuses or intrigues me as I walk the foreshore and thoughts that emanate as I contemplate my discoveries. I work, usually using mixed media, in both 2 and 3D. Installations and sculptures utilize some of my finds.
